I’ve loved KORA Organics’ Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm for a while now, but I must admit it didn’t quite ‘do it’ for me initially because of the hefty price tag. $24.95 AUD for 6.5mL of product is a crazy price to pay for a lip balm, regardless of whether it’s organic or not.
My addiction to lip balm clouds my judgement like that, but luckily KORA Organics came out with an alternative way to package their lip balm – in tube form with a slanted applicator tip. And while it’s arguable if it’s that much better than its older packaging, I still bought it.

Personally I prefer the tube packaging because it’s not as messy to apply, but whether it’s more hygienic is questionable. It comes down to how clean your hands generally are if you prefer the pot, or if you prefer the tube, should you wipe your lips clean before you apply?
Or if you’re like me, do you apply the product with your fingers even if the packaging is designed for you to apply directly to your lips? So many questions!
Jojoba, avocado and rosehip oils give the balm a subtle scent and taste as well as their respective natural benefits for the skin.
They’ve reformulated the product so that it can be dispensed easily from the tube, so if you prefer a solid balm to a runny one then opt for the pot.
Besides being certified by PETA as cruelty-free, it’s also Ecocert approved as an ‘organic cosmetic’ product with 99% of total ingredients from Natural Origin and 87.8% are Organic Farming.
I’ve been using the tubed version religiously as a lip balm as it smooths onto the lips so nicely. Who doesn’t like waking up with soft, supple lips?!
However, if you’re looking for a multi-purpose balm to not only nourish dry lips but cuticles as well, I’d recommend going for the tub version as the one in the tube may be too runny and would get messy quickly.
It also gives my lips a lovely sheen that also protects them from this cold winter wind.

I love how a simple layer of this balm on the lips can perk the lips up and make them look slightly more ‘full’.
So tell me, do you prefer lip products in tubes or in pots? And how do you prefer applying them?
