Cruelty-free Favourites: July 2015

july 2015 cruelty free favourites

I didn’t have much going on in July except for family gatherings and the odd trip down to Bondi Jn/Newtown with Chris to run some errands/grab a bite. So naturally, I wasn’t too fussed with doing my make up this month.

In saying that, the products included in today’s post are probably my everyday basics/essentials! So read on to find out which products I’ve been using to assure I don’t walk out the door looking too tragic :)

Better Than Sex Mascara, Too Faced

This mascara was already sitting prettily on my beauty shelf when my theBalm Cheater mascara ran out last month. Why? Because I’d heard all the rave reviews and I knew Too Faced does not test their products on animals, so I’d be stupid not to try it!

It has since gained holy grail status in my books, and I think I’ll have a hard time finding another mascara that works this well for my stubborn, Asian eyelashes. It’s also a weighty little tube that gives me all the control I need to avoid the catastrophic mascara-on-eyelid fiasco(s).

Choc Mint Body Brûlée, The Cosmetic Kitchen

I’m pretty fussy when it comes to flavoured chocolate in any form, but this Choc Mint Body Brûlée is a decadent, whipped mousse that smells like mint slice in a tub. It’s my favourite night-time body product because the peppermint scent is calming, which helps me fall asleep quicker.

It’s a fairly small jar (50g) but a little goes a long way, especially when they only use pure cocoa butter, coconut oil and vitamin E as a base with no added water to dilute the product. Yum… chocoholics, rejoice!

In A Good Light, Mecca Cosmetica

I don’t think I’ve thanked my bestie enough for gifting this tinted moisturiser with SPF30 to me for my birthday. It’s a lightweight facial sunscreen with light-deflecting particles that gives me effortless glowy skin. I’m just in awe that such a light sunscreen can provide SPF30 sun protection without casting a shade of white on my face.

On most days, I’d simply dab on some concealer to hide my ghastly eye bags, slap some of this stuff on and I’m good to go.

Lock-It Concealer, Kat Von D

I looked high and low last month for the Too Faced Absolutely Flawless concealer to no avail. Turns out there’s a nation-wide shortage of stock with the uncertainty of whether Mecca was going to restock any time soon. So when I went to Sephora, grabbed this concealer, and I’ve been using this religiously since.

I can’t, for the life of me, neglect to conceal these eye bags. That’s the downside to being a night owl.

Visual Eyes Liquid Eyeliner, Eyeko London

This eyeliner is possibly one of the best liquid eyeliners I’ve owned thus far because the brush tip applicator is precise and it still hasn’t dried out yet and it’s been months now since I bought it. I opted for the mocha shade (dark brown) because I wanted something I could dress up or down, depending on how much product I used.

It applies so smoothly on top of eyeshadow as well!

And that’s the end of my top favourites of July 2015! Let me know of any products you’ve been loving this month, I’m always on the look out for products to try. 😉

Much love,
