My name is Leann and I am a lip balm addict. I won’t get through each day without them and refuse to leave the house without a handful of lip balms to choose from throughout the day.
Confessions of a lip balm addict is another blog series that I will attempt to keep consistent, and I assure you I won’t ever run out of lip balms to write about!
MooGoo Strawberry Tinted Lip Balm
This tinted lip balm is by far one of the most conditioning lip balms I own, boasting the hydrating benefits of sweet almond oil, jojoba oil, beeswax and shea butter.
Most strawberry flavoured lip balms in the market taste and smell so artificial (lookin’ at you lip smackers!), but this one’s the most natural and pleasant one I’ve laid my hands on.
Despite being labelled as ‘tinted’, don’t expect much of a red sheen on the lips (swatches to come at a later date!).
Lanolips Banana Balm 3-in-1
Lanolips Banana Balm has been the first step in my daily make up routine for the past couple of weeks because the dry skin on my lips drink it up quickly, and all I need to do is wipe it off with a tissue to leave the perfect canvas for lipstick.
I was a bit iffy about the banana flavour before I smelled a tester because banana flavoured products also tend to smell artificial or too sweet. But this one, like the MooGoo one above, really exceeded my expectations.
The product itself is pretty thick, so it’d be great for those who tend to have really dry lips all year ’round. Add to that some iridescent shimmer for instantly perkier lips. Love it!
LUSH Cosmetics Maple Taffy Lip Balm
To my understanding this was a limited edition lip balm from Lush Christmas in July 2014.
The coconut scent from the coconut oil in this is actually quite prominent and can be a bit sickly sweet sometimes.
In terms of consistency, it’s pretty similar to their None of Your Beeswax lip balm but slightly more solid. Oh! And you can slightly taste the maple syrup in this too! <3
Crazy Rumors Red Velvet Flavoured Lip Balm
I’ve fallen head over heels in love with Crazy Rumors lip balms because they glide on so well, yet are still so conditioning.
If you’re a fan of red velvet sweets, this is definitely one you have to try. They nailed this flavour to the tee, and the boyfie can’t get enough of this one either! Yum…
Evolution of Smooth (EOS) Sweet Mint Lip Balm
I loved the EOS Summer Fruit and Honeysuckle Honeydew lip balms, so when I found that the local pharmacy stocked these EOS beauties, I just couldn’t resist.
However, I feel like they went crazy on the peppermint oil with this one because it tingles (and almost burns) on my lips for at least 5-10 minutes. Perfect as a lip plump, but hardly comfortable if you’ve got really chapped lips.
So… now taking lip balm suggestions! Let me know of any lip balm favourites of yours that I should try in the comments below
