Those who follow my Instagram probably already have an idea of the severity of my lip balm addiction. I have more lip balms than I have fingers and toes, and I’m not afraid of admitting my addiction! I thought I’d put together what I believe are the best lip balms of 2013! Each of these are/were my favourites at some point in 2013, and I refused to leave the house without them. So here’s to the best lip balms of 2013 in my books 😀
These are in no particular order!
Antipodes – Organic Lip Balm
The formula of this Antipodes lip balm makes my lips feel oh-so-soft, and it’s tube packaging allows me for a fuss-free application unlike potted lip balms. It moisturises and keeps my lips from chapping too easily. It made this list of best lip balms because I don’t own very many tubed lip balms that moisturised as well as this one.
Kiehl’s Lip Balm #1 – Cranberry
I bought this one when I was in Hong Kong and enjoyed it’s SPF benefits without that dingy taste that most lip products with SPF have. This is not for those living an organic/cruelty-free lifestyle as it is petrolatum-based and contains lanolin and parabens as well. They also come in a variety of other flavours if Cranberry isn’t your cup of tea!
Korres – Pomegranate Lip Butter
This baby gives my lips a pop of colour for those lazy days when I need to run errands on the town but don’t want to put too much make up on. It is a little bit like a whipped butter and it smells like pomegranate. This one made the best lip balms list for it’s quick-easy colour and hydration.
LUSH Cosmetics – Honey Trap Lip Balm
My holy grail lip balm. It smells so good – like white chocolate and vanilla-honey kisses and works a charm on chapped lips. I loved this one so much, I went out and bought another a few days ago… but as you can see, I still have a couple of months’ use out of my current tin. I’m not a big fan of lip balms you apply with fingers, but for this one… ANY DAY.
KORA – Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm
The price is a little steeper on this one, but there are multiple uses for this one. I use it to tame flyaway hairs and as a cuticle balm as well as it’s originally intended function as a lip balm. I love using this at bed time because I always wake up with nice soft lips. It’s a pretty small tub, $24.95 AUD for 6.5 mL might not seem worth it… but a little has gone a long way for me so far.
The Body Shop – Chocomania Lip Butter
There really isn’t anything special about this one, except for the chocolatey goodness it is! This has the standard The Body Shop lip butter formula that usually leaves a creamy sheen on the lips and moisturises just like the rest of their lip butters. I just happen to love how accurate their chocolate scent is
Smith’s – Strawberry Lip Balm
This lip balm is a god-send! You don’t need much to make your lips feel slick without the greasiness that many petrolatum based lip balms give. I bought this one over the rosebud salve because this one just reminds me so much of strawberry candies! Their ‘trade secret strawberry perfume flavour’ + the non-greasy consistency = WIN!
What are your all-time favourite lip balms? Please suggest some so I can continue fuelling my lip balm addiction! Hahaha x
