Wild About: Benefit Cosmetics Fakeup Concealer

Yes, lately I’ve been wild about Benefit Cosmetics, albeit a little less than I am with LUSH Cosmetics products. But Benefit Cosmetic’s Fakeup concealer is the first ever concealer that didn’t cake or crease, or leave my undereye flaky and dry from all the air-conditioning I subject my skin to every single day.

Pros

  • Hydrating outer product
  • Staying power
  • Does not cake or dry

Cons

  • The lipstick-tube style packaging makes it hard to get to the very bottom of the product
  • Makes you appear ‘too’ dewy if you use too much

Benefit Cosmetics’ packaging follows a somewhat retro/princess feel that I do enjoy. The cute paisley print on the creamy beige box contrasts well with the hot pink top, and the fonts make for a well branded Benefit Cosmetics product. Included in the box is a tube of fakeup hydrating concealer and a small fold-in pamphlet about the product.

The outer part of the stick is an emollient blend of vitamin E with apple seed extract and are responsible for the crease-control and hydrating functions of this concealer. The inner part, the concealer itself, plays a part in smoothing your skin as well as diffusing light and brightens which works particularly well with tired eyes.

I’m onto my second stick of the Benefit fakeup concealer after contemplating whether any of the other Benefit concealers could work better for me. I asked around, and the general consensus was that Boi-ing and Erase Paste tend to be a lot heavier on the skin and that sticking with the fakeup would be my best bet if I enjoyed its effects on my skin.

I only just recently started priming my concealer after buying Benefit’s Primping with the Stars which included a baby-sized Stay Don’t Stray concealer and eyeshadow primer. I have definitely seen a difference in how it looks with and without the primer, and I’ll be putting an order through to get the full sized Stay Don’t Stray soon.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see how things go if I used the baby-sized POREfessional also from Benefit Cosmetics that came with my Show Me the Love purchase.

Fakeup is perfect for the girl who doesn’t need a full coverage concealer. The hydrating benefits of fakeup is suited to those who sit in a drying environment day-in and day-out, be it at work or at school.

Much love,

Sold to the lady with the panda eyes! Thanks, I’ll be hitting a Benefit counter soon for some Stay Don’t Stray and Fake Up. FIngers crossed it works just as well for me.

Yay! Haha if you prefer something matte over something that’s ‘dewy’ … a setting powder might serve you better 😀 And the cute packaging! How can you resist the cute packaging!!!

I don’t know about matte since it tends to cake on me… I have giant pores and dry scaly patches so dewy kind of sounds like it sits a bit higher on the hydration scale.
