Did you know that exfoliating is essentially unnecessary because you naturally shed older skin cells to make way for the newer skin cells that surface to the top?

I didn’t. And that’s why for the longest time, I thought it was okay to use a facial scrub daily. Fortunately, I learnt that there is a chemical alternative to these physical scrubs that is just as good at renewing your skin cells as your typical abrasive exfoliant.

Though I wasn’t entirely a fan of the KORA Organics gel cleanser because I thought scrubs did a better job at purifying my skin, I still decided to give gel cleansers another chance.

The lactic acid in my new Aēsop Parsley Seed cleanser acts as a chemical ‘exfoliant’ which helps do away with dead skin cells, similar to how physical exfoliants work.

I’ve only been using it for about a week and it’s already taking care of the pimples I’ve been getting after recently switching to a new facial sunscreen.

The anti-inflammatory properties of licorice root, revitalising blackcurrant seed oil together with the rejuvenating properties of lactic acid make for a well-rounded cleanser that’s suitable for all skin types.

You can feel the difference immediately after use, as your skin is left feeling softer and smoother – ready for your follow up toner and moisturiser.

One thing to note regarding the Aēsop Parsley Seed Facial Cleanser is that it comes without a pump, so remember to ask when you make your purchase or else you’ll just be pouring the product out each time, which can be quite annoying!

I’m quite particular with moisturisers because the last thing I want is a sticky, greasy face that smells of about a billion different things. That’s where Aēsop’s Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream comes into play!

It’s a beautifully formulated moisturiser that’s creamier than a lot of moisturisers in the market today, but is absorbed fairly quickly and lasts a long while.

The extracts of mandarin, lemon and tangerine rinds not only contribute to the lovely citrus scent, but they also deliver the antioxidants and other replenishing botanicals that my skin loves.

The Aēsop Mandarin Facial Hydrating Cream leaves my skin feeling soft and supple, and the elemental citrus scent go hand in hand for that fresh, clean skin feeling.

Much love,

Hi Leann, Wondering if you have a view on how Kora Organics Foaming Cleanser stands alongside this Parsley Seed of Aesop. I ran out of Aesop and could only find Kora in the store nearby and settled for it (haven’t opened it as yet) – would like to know how it compares?

      Hey Gaea,

I’m so sorry for the extremely late reply :( I would definitely stick with the Aesop Parsley Seed cleanser because it made my skin feel super clean! Not to mention it doubles up as a chemical exfoliant (salicylic acid does the job) so I leave it on my skin for a couple minutes in the shower before washing it off.

Did you end up taking the Kora Organics cleanser back?
