Now that the Winter months in Sydney are almost over, I’ve put together a small list which has helped me stay on top of my beauty game in the past few months. Dry skin… be gone!
Sukin Organics Facial Moisturiser
Infused with essential oils, this light-to-medium weight moisturiser is perfect for those winter months.
It smells of a pleasant blend of orange/vanilla, and absorbs quickly into the skin.
This facial moisturiser from Sukin has been a part of my basic skincare regime for a while now, and I can’t fault it in any way.
KORA Organics Energising Citrus Mist
Facial mists are a no-brainer, and I believe it is a beauty essential all-year-round.
The KORA Organics Energising Citrus Mist is the perfect winter pick-me-up, especially for those who sit in air conditioning all day long.
It does seem a little excessive to spend AU $39.95 on a facial mist, so for those looking for something more affordable, do check out Sukin Organics’ Hydrating Mist Toner instead.
MooGoo Edible Strawberry Tinted Lip Balm
One of my all-time-favourites, MooGoo’s lip balm is not only non-greasy, it also does an amazing job at keeping my lips hydrated in Winter.
The balm itself is a dark red-brown, but only gives your lips a touch of colour.
It smells and tastes like real strawberry, and not the artificial, sickly sweet kind like a lot of other strawberry scented products on the market.
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream
If you’re like me, and the skin under your eyes tend to be drier than the rest of your face, then eye cream is your best friend in the winter months.
Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream is a lovely, light eye cream with 100% pure avocado oil, manuka and carrot seed that does a great job at keeping my under-eye area from flaking.
Keep the jar in the fridge for that cool, soothing/de-puffing effect.
Lavera Basis Hand Cream
Nobody ever complained about an organic, non-greasy, quick-absorbing, softly-scented hand cream, and the Lavera Basis Hand Cream is all the above.
Easily one of my favourite hand creams to date, and at AU $11.20 or so at The Cruelty Free Shop in Glebe, it is also crazy affordable!
You could also try the Sukin one, or if you feelin’ fancy (and feel like splurging), the KORA Organics one is good too.
LUSH Cosmetics Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter
My favourite cuticle cream to date. And from what I’ve heard, Lemony Flutter is a crowd pleaser – with people giving it rave reviews from all over the world!
It’s a thick and melty butter that works wonders on dry cuticles and if you have really dry hands – use it as hand cream too!
The lemon scent is fresh, unlike your typically artificial lemon scents. But beware, it does take a bit of time to settle in, so keep it for just before bed or throughout a movie ;).
Sukin Certified Organic Rose Hip Oil
Rosehip oil are known for their abundance of fatty acids that are essential for our skin’s health.
If your normal moisturiser isn’t hydrating enough in the winter months, a few drops of this liquid gold will give it more hydrating power.
I’m not a fan of dropper bottles, and prefer ones with a pump because I feel it’s a lot less fiddly.
Suvana Paw Paw & Honey Organic Balm
Besides being a great lip balm, pawpaw ointments have several other uses.
Dry patchy skin? Nose feeling raw after blowing your nose too much? Unruly eyebrows with no eyebrow gel in sight? You name it.
I love Suvana’s certified organic pawpaw balm because I mostly use it as a lip balm, so it wouldn’t make sense to use something with petroleum jelly if it’s likely to find its way down into your digestive tract!
KORA Organics Enriched Body Lotion
KORA Organics products are overpriced. But honestly, I haven’t found another body lotion that works as well as their enriched body lotion.
It smells pleasant, and works into the skin just nicely. The consistency is thick but not heavy, making it one of the best body lotions I’ve tried.
However, as previously mentioned, it isn’t exactly ‘affordable’… so if anyone has any recommendations, please let me know in the comments! <3
