This is the fourth part of 2013 in Retrospect which is a series I aim to complete throughout the month of December where I attempt to summarise the ups and downs of life as a 22 year old. 2013 in Retrospect … I’ve met people from all walks of life – some inspiring, and some… just the perfect example of a bad example.
I’ve come across several people this year that have shed light on different types of people that exist in the world. One of these people was a hypocritical, disingenuous, pretentious, arrogant idiot who went through truckloads of effort just trying to extract even the tiniest reaction from us. Let’s just name this person Jordan, shall we?
To be completely honest, I didn’t know this Jordan character personally but they made still made several attempts to attack me. By this, I mean the long and winding email that was sent to my personal email address that was teemed with malicious intent. And the pseudo-responses uploaded onto Twitter to counter anything that I had posted that day. They also openly commented that they did some digging around on social media to find my profile by association and judged me based on my profile picture -_- .
Naturally, I just carried on with my life because I didn’t see any value in trying to make amends with someone that was set on thinking that I’m the antagonist of their story. I had countless dreams of being friends with Jordan because I just don’t like/don’t deal well with conflict. Those were some pretty confusing dreams to me, but I guess that’s just the thinker in me.
After a while of not hearing anything from Jordan, we receive a call from a local police station saying that someone had complained about my Twitter posts and my blog. And having been told not to make any sort of contact with both parties, they still found the energy to email us regarding the filed police report. I thought this was just ridiculous, but at least that was the last we heard of Jordan. There were several other incidences with Jordan that I’m sure nobody really needs to know about.
Anyways, my point is that sometimes, you don’t even need to do anything to make someone dislike you. They may make as many attempts to hurt you, but it’s always best to just leave it at their failed attempts. Who cares what they think of you? They’re destroying their own dignity, and building an image of disintegrity for themselves just to see a reaction from you.
I know I get a little protective of the people around me, so when someone is talking shit about someone I care about, my reaction is always to give Twitter my first opinion. I know I can be a bitch, but always with reason. So to be hit with Jordan’s illogical arguments, I was a little dumbfounded by how irrational a person could be.
Anyways… this is my blog, and this is my opinion. I publish this post knowing that it only has the potential to reach very few people, but it doesn’t even matter because nobody can draw any conclusions as to who Jordan is.
I want nothing else to do with the Jordan character in the new year, so hopefully they will be able to carry on with their life so that the whole Jordan ordeal will become nothing but a notion of a bad experience.
